  3. The Cisco Network Foundation Protection (NFP) framework is a foundational concept covered in the CCNA Security certification path. It provides a structured approach to securing network devices (routers and switches) by dividing their functionalities into three logical planes:

    Data Plane (Forwarding Plane):

    Network Security Projects For Final Year Students

    Responsible for forwarding user data packets across the network.
    Security considerations in the data plane include:
    Access Control Lists (ACLs) to filter traffic based on source/destination IP addresses, ports, protocols, etc.
    Secure protocols like Secure Shell (SSH) for managing network devices instead of Telnet.
    Port security to restrict unauthorized devices from connecting to specific switch ports.
